COUNSELOR INFORMATION
You must have Prader Willi Syndrome to attend. You must be at least 8 years of age to attend. These are the only two requirements for attending "People With Smiles" Camp. There are only 40 spots available and will be filled on a 'first come, first serve' basis. The theme this year is Happy Camper !!! There's a reason we call it People With Smiles! Deadline: September 15th !!! Come "be happy" with us for our 8th annual PWS Camp!
ALL Campers MUST fill out ALL Registration Forms. You can find and fill out everything you will need for Registration by clicking on the REGISTRATION BUTTON .
Fee: $230, $50 deposit due at time of registration (includes:1:1 camper/counselor ratio, 1 camp t-shirt, lodging, PWS friendly meal plan and all activities)
A complete physical with physicians signature is required to be completed every other year. We are making things easier this year by allowing FULL online Registration! your time & hearts to our 8th annual PWS specific camp. Our Campers require 1:1 Counselors. If you haven't worked with persons who have PWS before, NOT TO WORRY! We will have training available and plenty of assistance for you. It's not difficult as everything is well organized. Most of all ... you will leave with a FULL heart! Counselor Tuition - FREE!!!

Job Title: Camp Counselor
Training (Optional): Thursday, October 25, 2018 – Counselor’s Night Only! Let us show our Appreciation for your joining us!! We will have team building activities and a 'get to know each other' time. PLEASE JOIN US!!!
Essential Functions:
Supervise 1:1 person between the age of 8 and up with their day-to-day routine including in the dorms and overnight. Assist and Participate in scheduled camp activities. Assist in recreational activities and programs. The counselor will need to be available the entire duration of the camp and be with an assigned camper at all times.
Desired Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age; or 17 with two references from school administration such as School Counselor, Principle, etc. (Please request Recommendation Form under the Contact Tab if you're in high school wishing to Volunteer. You will also need to Register through this site as Volunteer.) You must desire an ability to work with persons with PWS of intellectual disabilities of all levels. Good leadership, communication and teamwork skills. Good character, integrity, and adaptability. Friendly, personable, enthusiastic, responsible, sense of humor and patience. Interest or background in special needs is not necessary, but desirable.
